Wants to be the woman in charge, alerts to dangers, has small animal prey drive, and is the biggest lap puppy ever! Get out a ball and Gretchen turns into a playful puppy with her long legs flying about in joy. Gretchen takes time, like most shepherds, to warm up to her person and other dogs. But once she decides you are in her circle, you are HERS!

Gretchen was found tied to a pole in Aberdeen on the first freezing night in the harbor this fall, waiting all night and found the next morning with frost on the items left with her. She was left with a tattered old dog bed and a slipper, when animal control came, she refused to leave her "things." When the officer put her things into the patrol rig, Gretchen jumped right in.
