Gretchen -880's Story
Gretchen Weiners (named after the Mean Girls character)

Gretchen Weiners is a little lady who knows exactly who she is even if her early years weren't so certain. She's around 5 years old and weighs 6 lbs. She came to us having had a rocky start to life and because of that needs consistency in her routines to really come out of her shell.

She enjoys affection on her own terms - she's happy to soak up pets and snuggles, but she's equally content doing her own thing on a comfy couch or pillow. She won't be under your feet or demanding constant attention; she has her own social calendar, thank you very much.

Like any true Plastic, Gretchen has layers. She's independent and spirited, with that classic chihuahua attitude. Her perfect match is someone who understands the chihuahua temperament and has a calm, patient household where she can settle in, build trust, and remember that everything is going to be okay.

She still can't quite make fetch happen, but she will let you sit with her. Probably.

Gretchen is potty trained and kennel trained. She does best with a strong routine and would love a home where her days look largely the same. Due to Gretchen's size and consistency needs she is not suitable for a home with children, everyone in her future home needs to be 16+. Gretchen is fine with other dogs however will not do well in a busy home or with high energy dogs. She chases her tail when stressed and that can overly excite some other dogs so any future companions will need to be lower energy and indifferent to her activity. She also would thrive as an only dog as she has no problem being Queen of her domain.
