Greta's Story
Meet Greta, a gentle senior sweetheart with a calm spirit and a heart full of love. She's happiest when she's relaxing near her favorite people, soaking up quiet moments and simply enjoying your company. Greta is wonderfully quiet-you may rarely hear her bark-and while she enjoys the occasional toy, she'd much rather spend her days taking short strolls, lounging in a cozy spot, or keeping you company around the house.

Greta is fully potty trained and will politely let you know when she needs to go outside. She thrives in a peaceful, predictable home and appreciates slow, gentle introductions to new people so she can build trust at her own pace. She gets along well with other dogs but is looking for a cat-free home.

Like many senior dogs, Greta has arthritis and some vision loss, so she's looking for a patient family who can help guide her through daily routines and give her medications. Despite these challenges, she handles life with grace and continues to enjoy each day with quiet resilience and unconditional love.

If you're looking for a loyal, low-maintenance companion who will happily be your shadow and fill your home with gentle companionship, Greta may be the perfect addition to your family.

Potty-Trained: Yes
Behavior towards adults: Good with proper introductions
Behavior towards children: Unsure; recommends slow, proper introductions
Behavior towards other dogs: Good
Behavior towards cats: Not good
Crate-trained: Yes
Stairs: Can manage a few stairs
Medical Concerns & Medication: Arthritis and eye ulcers; ~$20 a month for medications

As a rescue organization, we provide all medical care, procedures, and testing that are available to us while the dog is in our care. Adopters are responsible for ongoing preventatives, follow-up veterinary appointments, and any medications as needed after adoption. In some cases, adopters may also be responsible for procedures not completed while in rescue, such as dental cleanings, additional bloodwork, or other recommended care.

Please note that we work with volunteer veterinarians and partner veterinary clinics, and protocols may vary between veterinary offices.

All adopted dogs will receive their rabies and distemper vaccinations prior to adoption.

We offer a $50 adoption fee discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help offset the cost of veterinary exams, vaccinations (rabies and distemper), heartworm testing, spay/neuter surgery (if needed), and any additional medical care specific to each individual dog.

At this time, Grey Face Rescue is unable to adopt outside of Minnesota. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We do not place animals in homes where current pets are not up to date on vaccinations or are not spayed/neutered. Exceptions may be considered for documented medical reasons as provided by a licensed veterinarian. Thank you for supporting our mission to reduce pet overpopulation.

Once your application has been submitted, our Adoption Manager will be in touch. Please be sure to check your spam or junk folder if you do not hear from us within 7-10 days.

Thank you for your interest in adopting a Grey Face senior. We truly appreciate your support.
