Greta's Story

Greta was born about March 6, 2023 and will likely top out in the 35 lb. range. She is as good-humored and happy-go-lucky as they get! She's fantastic with the other dogs, thoroughly enjoying her time running and playing with them. Greta also did splendidly on her two-hour car ride to the main site after her transfer to Joyful Rescues from the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter, which sought assistance from local rescues due to dangerously high overcrowding. Greta seems to be on the quiet side which we love. She does fine on leash and has met just a bit older kids and thought they were a lot of fun! As for breed....she looks like a shrunken, blonde, Shepherd and, perhaps, there is some Husky in there somewhere along with a few other fun mixes. She couldn't be cuter or a better size! Greta may be a bit of a diamond in the rough, but without too much effort she will likely become your 'best dog ever'! Greta has become a very strong swimmer! Joyful Rescues's Adoption Policy
By adopting a pet you are not only helping the pet you adopt but also others in or needing to come into rescue. Your adoption helps us to keep doing what we do to help area animals stop reproducing and find quality homes for the homeless while providing them the best care we can.  Your new family member will take considerable time, attention, patience and money to be properly cared for. Think of your new addition as your baby!! It is not a lawn ornament to be tied in your yard or kept in a basement. Consider the ultimate size of a young pet, how big of a pet can you handle?? Are you ready for an adult DOG or CAT in your family? If not, do not adopt a puppy or kitten - they grow up. Are you prepared for unexpec
