She's right-sized at 75 pounds, affectionate, eager to be part of the family, and always excited to make new friends - both people and dogs!<br/><br/>While we search for her perfect home, Greta is being fostered by her owners. They are "young at heart" and adore her, but have decided that she needs a better match for her playful energy. This beautiful girl has already mastered many important things on your shepherd wish list. She's housebroken, crate-trained, walks nicely on leash, loves car rides, and is comfortable being boarded when her family travels.<br/><br/>Greta has so much love to give and is looking for an active family that will include her in everyday life. She enjoys meeting new people, gets along well with dogs, and has done great with her owners' grandchildren, ages 5 and 7, who visit regularly. She's gentle, friendly, and always happy to be included in the fun.<br/> <br/>Like many German Shepherds, Greta has a healthy prey drive. Squirrels, opossums, and anything else that's fast and furry are too tempting to ignore. She hasn't lived with cats, although she did meet one, and after receiving a swat on the nose, she decided backing away was the better option. While we can't call her cat-safe, she may be able to live with a confident cat after slow, careful introductions.<br/><br/>If you've been looking for a well-socialized, affectionate young German Shepherd with an excellent foundation, your search is over!
