Grenadine's Story

Meet Grenadine, a special girl with a big heart who's looking for her forever couch! While she may be a little anxious and nervous when meeting new people, Grenadine is incredibly affectionate and loyal once she gets to know you. She is looking for someone who will be patient with her and give her the time she needs to warm up and show her true colors. Once she does, she'll be your shadow, offering gentle love and endless devotion.

We don't know anything about Grenadine's past. She was surrendered to a rural shelter with a litter of puppies in early January. There is evidence she has had at least one other litter previously. She was probably under-socialized and she has some fear and anxiety out in the world. She has some trust issues and it takes her some time to warm up.

Grenadine thinks bicycles are her mortal enemy. She has one mission: to destroy them. She feels similarly about speeding vehicles. For these reasons, she prefers walks at a park or going hiking, rather than in residential areas.

She doesn't know how to play with toys and she doesn't appreciate other dogs playing with them either. She is working on building tolerance for others' playtime but it is a work in progress.

She is dog selective. She prefers male dogs over females.

The first (and second, and maybe third) time you try to pet her, she will probably bark and correct you.

Despite all of this, she is still a good dog with lots to offer the right home. It takes a couple days, but once she trusts you, she is a world champion cuddler.

She gives the best good morning hugs.

She rides great in the car to get to parks where she loves to go hiking and on adventures.

She may not love all dogs, but she is a great communicator and offers appropriate corrections. She does fine with cats. She will protect your home from any threat of squirrels.

She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and parasite prevention. She is housebroken and crate trained.

She doesn't need a lot of space. She doesn't need a ton of exercise. She doesn't need a unicorn home. She can live with another dog, cats, women and/or men. Kids are not her favorite but older ones would be ok.

She needs time and patience but she is worth it because once she chooses you, she loves hard and is inseparable. Email us if you have questions or are interested in applying.

She is spayed, microchipped, fully vetted and up to date on parasite prevention. Her adoption fee is $350.
