Meet Graycie!<br/><br/>Graycie is a smart, loving, playful girl who has been through a lot and is still learning that she's safe. Once she trusts her people, her happy personality shines through and she'll shower you with affection. She's looking for an experienced, confident family who understands shepherds and is willing to provide the structure and consistency she needs.<br/><br/>- Smart, affectionate, playful, and very food motivated<br/>- Loves cuddling and thinks she's a lap dog-she especially enjoys laying on top of her favorite person<br/>- Loves toys and chewing on Benebones<br/>- Dog selective, but can become very playful with dogs she likes after proper introductions<br/>- Does best with plenty of space to run and play<br/>- Crate trained and keeps her crate clean<br/>- Muzzle trained and comfortable wearing her muzzle, especially when she knows it means walk time<br/>- Strong on leash and may bark or lunge when she sees another dog with a person; she can be redirected with proper handling<br/>- Has a prey drive toward smaller animals and may pull when interested, but can be redirected<br/>- Very responsive to training when food is involved<br/>- Can be protective of her person and is still learning appropriate boundaries<br/>- Needs structure, consistency, and a confident handler who will follow through with training<br/>- A little wary of young children, so older, respectful children would likely be the best fit; proper introductions will be important<br/>- Her personality truly blossoms once she gets to know and trust you<br/><br/>Graycie is not looking for a family that expects her to be perfect right away. Old Dominion Humane Society's Adoption Policy
If you would like to adopt an animal from Old Dominion Humane Society, please visit our website for an application. https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-application Please keep in mind that we are a volunteer run organization.  Adult dogs adoption fee --   $275.00 Senior dog adoption fee-- $175.00 Puppies under 1 year adoption fee --  $375.00 Puppies will not go home until they are at least 10 weeks old and have been spay/neutered. Dogs will be adopted Spayed/Neutered, current on Rabies, Distemper series, Heartworm tested (if six months or older) and Microchipped.   All puppies are required to be enrolled into training within 90 days of adoption with your choice of a certified trainer. ODHS adopts within a 350 mile radius of Fredericksburg, VA.
