Grasshopper's Story

Meet Grasshopper!

Grasshopper is another one of our bug puppies, who was found down in Philly abandoned when they were just one day old! Grasshopper is now about 13 weeks old (as of August 13th), and is searching for his forever family! I adore this puppy! He has the sweetest and most gentle personality, and he is also so in tune with his people. We're starting to do some basic training with him, he is picking things up so fast, and has this kind personality that he just wants to please his person. He follows you around like a little Shadow, and always wants to be near people. Don't get me wrong, he loves other dogs too though! And will ruff and tumble and play with them and likes to run in the yard, but he definitely has a more mild disposition than his siblings.

Poor grasshopper has a medical condition as well, and he was at the young age of 7 weeks old diagnosed with diabetes. It is not very common for one so young to develop diabetes, though it happens, and thankfully he is managing well on his insulin so far! This is unfortunately going to be a lifelong condition for him, and his new family will need to be ready to take on the responsibility of twice daily insulin injections, and lifelong follow-up and maintenance of his condition. Luckily, diabetes is something he can live with for his entire life, and the hope is that he would still live a nice long normal happy life! He has had a full workup as part of his diagnosis, including blood work and abdominal ultrasound, and thankfully everything else was normal! So we are expecting him to live a normal life, despite the diabetes!

This puppy honestly has the most amazing personality. Everyone who meets him falls in love with his sweet and gentle disposition, and he deserves the most amazing family who is going to pamper and spoil him forever! His initial regulation of his diabetes will be covered by the rescue as part of his adoption fee, but once fully adopted that is something you would take over right away as that will require ongoing maintenance and rechecks. His neuter and full vaccinations as a puppy are also included! Please contact us today for more information about this handsome fellow, he is also a really sweet boy who deserves the most wonderful home.

? All applicants must be able to show vet history for ALL resident pets (dogs AND cats). This means spayed/neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and a history of annual exams. Applications that do not meet these requirements will be denied.
? Our adoption radius is within one hour of Perkasie, PA.
? All vet care included with adoption (spay/neuter, microchip, and full series of core vaccinations) will be done at Pennridge Animal Hospital in Perkasie, so their adoptions will involve several visits to the hospital.
? We recommend not filling out the application on an iPhone, as it does not always go through. Please use a different device. You will receive a confirmation if your application was successfully submitted.

Apply to adopt: www.harleyshavendogrescue.com/adopt

Harley’s Haven Dog Rescue Perkasie, PA PA Lic #8332
