Graley German Shepherd Dog & Coonhound Mix Cincinnati, OH

Graley is a very sweet, all around good boy! He was found as a stray in West Virginia and was extremely emaciated. With some good food and TLC, he is now at a healthy weight and thriving! Graley is a 6 year old, 48 pound, German Shepherd mix who would love his very own forever home.

Graley does fine with other dogs and cats but he doesn't care much about them. He would much rather get pets and lay by you than with the other animals.

He's a total love bug and leans his head into your hand when you pet him. Graley loves pets, any attention he can get, and his tail is always wagging when you are talking to him. He is great with listening to sit and lay commands. He comes when he is called and goes to a bed when you point to it. This sweetheart absolutely loves dog beds. If there is something soft on the floor, that's where he wants to be. While he doesn't care much for toys, he does love his chewing snacks or frozen Kong's. Graley has had no accidents and does not show any destructive behaviors when bored.

Graley struggles with separation anxiety because he is most comfortable when you're around. While he is kennel trained, he is not fond of being left alone. Whoever adopts him will need to be patient with him to give him the love that he wants while working with him to be comfortable while you're not around.

Graley is also weary of new people. Upon seeing people, he often barks at them. He will need to be introduced slowly to new people to show that they are safe and that he doesn't need to fear them.

We are working on his leash manners while on walks. He is most interested in sniffing rather than waking or running. Given a large space or a fenced in yard, he'll just sniff everything he can slowly and casually. Graley is fairly low energy once he's gotten his chance to sniff around.
