Graham's Story
Name: Graham
Age: ~10
Breed: Labrador Retriever (assumed but not tested)
Color: Brown
Sex: Male, neutered
Weight: 78 lbs
Location: Rolling Meadows (near Chicago), IL

Hi! I’m Graham. I was found as a stray in TN on March 15th. The vet says I’m probably 10 years old, and I’m fully blind in both eyes. But that doesn’t keep me from having fun and taking snuggly naps with the people who want to love on me! I'm being fostered in Rolling Meadow, IL, and I'm looking for a forever home.
Some notes about Graham:
-he has been to the vet and is fully vaccinated
-he is neutered & chipped
-his bloodwork came back in the normal range
-he is heartworm positive and has started the “slow kill” treatment method (he has five more months of medicine which is applied to the back of his neck once monthly, and then he will need a recheck)
-he hopes for a mom or dad who is home often, though he is crate trained and does very well in the crate for a few hours at a time
-the ideal adopter is willing to give Graham two short walks a day (or some other kind of enrichment activity)
-he cannot have access to stairs (if you have them, they must be safely closed off at all times)
-adopter must have a safe fenced in backyard or be willing to walk him on leash 100% of the time
-Graham is a huge sweetie. He loves people and is dog friendly, cat friendly and kid friendly (older kids only due to his size & being blind).
-Graham will receive cataract surgery in both eyes (full cost covered) -- this option is available only if he's a good candidate for surgery and the adopter is able to manage post-operative care. Alternatively, if he is not a good candidate, Gale Loves Dogs will help sponsor Graham's care (up to $1500 / year for food & vet) as we are committed to finding the right adopter who can give Graham the love and attention he needs in his golden years.

Application available via Gale Loves Dogs website.
