Gracie Jane - NEEDS FOSTER's Story

Meet Gracie Jane (aka Big Mum)

Gracie Jane has already lived a lifetime of stories—and she's ready for the very best chapter yet.

After her owner passed away, Gracie Jane was sadly left chained outdoors when family members relegated her to the yard. Not spayed, she soon found herself caring for TWELVE puppies (lovingly dubbed the One Piece Litter). Thanks to a compassionate local rescuer, Gracie Jane and her babies were surrendered so they could get the care they deserved. Because shelters are no place for growing pups, they made their way to Stop the Suffering, where Gracie Jane can finally begin to rest and heal.

It's clear Gracie Jane once knew the comforts of home. She is housebroken and would much rather be curled up on a cozy couch than tied out in a yard. She gets along well with other dogs, though she hasn't quite learned how to play and much prefers to follow her person around.

Right now, Gracie Jane is focusing on putting some much-needed meat on her bones and learning that life can be gentle again. With a little patience, love, and stability, we know she's going to absolutely blossom.

If you're looking for a sweet, resilient soul who's ready to trade survival mode for snuggles and security, Gracie Jane might just be your girl.

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS: Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal/deworming, negative heartworm, vaccines and prevention up to date. Ohio residents only. STS is a foster based, volunteer run, rescue. As such, we do not have a physical location or hours for you meet any foster dog and it does take time to answer each inquiry. All dogs are in homes and once an application is approved and a home visit is complete you are able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs. We encourage interested individuals to get approved prior to searching as it helps expedite the process. A petfinder inquiry is not a substitute for an application. For detailed information about our adoption process including fees please visit our website at http://www.stopthesuffering.org. 1. Complete the online application at www.stopthesuffering.org. 2. We complete vet and reference verification. 3. Once approved, we schedule a home visit and meet and greet. WHAT WE REQUIRE: To ensure the safety and health of your new family member, we require that pets currently in the home be altered, up-to-date on vaccinations, on appropriate heartworm and flea prevention, and that all pets be kept indoors. We will require physical fences for specific dogs that we feel will be necessary to ensure their safety.
