Gracie *BONDED PAIR*'s Story

Some dogs come into our lives for a chapter. Others bring their very best friend along and promise a story you’ll never forget. ❤️

Meet Sparky and Gracie, a wonderfully mismatched but perfectly matched bonded pair looking for a home where they can stay together forever.

Sparky is a 15-year-old medium-sized Pitbull mix with the heart of a teddy bear. This gentle senior has truly mastered the art of the good life: peaceful walks, sunny spots outside, delicious meals, and lots of cuddles with his people. Though he’s a bigger boy, Sparky is incredibly soft and sweet. His foster family says one of his most charming habits is quietly walking over while they’re sitting on the couch and placing his head on their leg. That’s his polite way of asking for cuddle time—and once he does it, it’s pretty much impossible to resist joining him on the floor for snuggles.

Sparky is housebroken, non-destructive, and wonderfully polite on leash. He enjoys his walks and will greet other dogs with a friendly sniff before moving along. These days his energy level is low, and he’s happiest curling up near the people and dogs he loves. Every once in a while he’ll even surprise everyone with a little burst of zoomies in the yard! Sparky does have some arthritis, but he manages it well and mostly just appreciates soft places to rest and a slower pace of life.

Sparky has also been diagnosed with mast cell tumors. While that can sound scary, the good news is that they are currently slow growing and are not affecting his quality of life. He’s simply a senior dog who deserves comfort, kindness, and a family to love for however many happy days lie ahead.

And then there’s Gracie, his adorable 7-year-old fluffy sidekick, likely a Havanese mix. Where Sparky is calm and steady, Gracie brings the sparkle and silliness. She’s a happy, playful little dog who seems to wake up each day excited to make friends and have fun.

Gracie is incredibly friendly with people and dogs alike—her tail starts wagging the moment she meets someone new. She enjoys her walks, greets other dogs politely on leash, and loves to play. Stuffed toys are her absolute favorite. Her foster family says she’ll sometimes toss a toy up into the air, flip onto her back, and flail her legs around in pure goofy joy. Other times she’ll happily play on the floor for ages, giving playful growls and little barks that make everyone laugh.

But as playful as she is, Gracie is also a champion cuddler. She loves curling up on the couch after playtime and soaking up affection. Sometimes she’ll be resting nearby, then suddenly lift her little head just to give her foster a sweet lick on the chin. Her foster family describes her as playful, friendly, loving, sweet, and happy—and they say they will miss both the play sessions and the cuddles the most.

Together, Sparky and Gracie make a beautiful pair. They balance each other perfectly—Sparky’s calm, gentle presence paired with Gracie’s playful spirit. Sparky especially relies on Gracie for comfort, and he becomes anxious when separated from her, so they must be adopted together.

They are both housebroken, non-destructive, friendly with other dogs, and wonderful with children. They’re also great at meeting new people and settle into home life easily.

If you’re looking for double the love, double the companionship, and a pair of dogs whose friendship will melt your heart, Sparky and Gracie are ready to fill your home with warmth, laughter, and cuddles. 🐾

The adoption fee for Sparky and Gracie together is $550. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue.

If you would like to meet Sparky and Gracie, please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt. We will review your responses and be in contact to schedule a meet and greet at a time and place convenient for your family and our team member.

Wish Upon A Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for considering adoption first!! Wish Upon a Rescue, hereinafter referred to as WISH, has dogs and cats available for adoption. We believe that all of these animals deserve a second chance at a forever home, regardless of breed, age or physical ability. These animals come to WISH for a variety of reasons, and we will be sure to share with you all of the factual information we have on each pet prior to adoption. These animals may come to us after being found stray (lost and unclaimed from animal control), as an owner surrender due to illness or relocation of the previous owner, or as a result of unwanted litters of kittens and puppies. But don’t worry; no matter how these animals found safety at WISH, they are all ready to brighten your life. They are WISHING on every star for their forever families, and they are working hard in their foster homes to learn how to be the best dog or cat in town! When adopting an animal, you will be saving at least two lives: The life of your newly adopted family member and a second life by opening up a space in a foster home for WISH to save another animal. Please remember, when you adopt you are making a lifetime commitment to your new family member. When you complete the application, it will be reviewed by a WISH Adoption Counselor. The adoption counselor’s primary responsibility is placing an animal in the home best suited for its unique needs. An interview with you and your family will allow the adoption counselor to help ensure a good fit with your new family member and answer any questions you may have. In some cases, an adoption counselor will bring the animal to your home in preparation for adoption. This is a good time for all members of the household and any current animals to meet. This is also a good time to ask any questions you may have. Depending on the needs of your family and the animal, the adoption may be completed during this visit. Here at WISH, we strongly believe in positive reinforcement training for all cats and dogs. We require that puppies and the majority of adult dogs complete a positive reinforcement training class at a certified training facility within two month of adoption at the adopter’s expense. We would be more than happy to help you find a trainer that meets your family’s needs. A copy of the training completion certificate should to be sent to a WISH After Care Manager. A WISH After-Care Manager will be in contact with you several times in the next few months to ask how the animals is doing, ask about the animal’s health and well-being, and to assist with any issues or questions that you may have. A valid driver’s license or state ID is required for identification purposes and will be copied for the animals file. The primary applicant must be 21 years old or older. WISH reserves the right to accept or deny any applicant or application based on our requirements for adoption and the needs of the animal. Completion of this application does not guarantee approval for adoption. Please be truthful in your responses of this adoption application as it will help the adoption counselor find the perfect pet for your family. Failure to provide truthful answers may result in a nullification of your application and contract. WISH is an all volunteer organization and we appreciate your cooperation and patience with our adoption process. We will do our very best to complete the adoption process as quickly as possible, while ensuring what is best for the animals and your family.
