Grace's Story

Grace is a 9-year-old Hound mix weighing about 65 pounds who is searching for a place to finally call home.

Grace was originally adopted from us years ago and spent most of her life as a deeply loved companion. Sadly, her world changed when her beloved Mama passed away. Family members tried their best to care for her, but life was constantly shifting, and Grace found herself without the stability a senior girl deserves. Now she is back with us, understandably a little confused by all the changes, but still every bit the sweet, gentle dog she has always been.

Grace is what we lovingly call a “turn-key” dog — the kind who can step right into a home and settle in. She is fully housebroken, rides beautifully in the car, and carries herself with the calm confidence that comes from years of being someone’s companion. She has been polite and easygoing with every dog she has met during her time here.

Grace briefly visited the cat room but seemed to have very little interest, though everything was quite overwhelming that day. We’re happy to take another walk through for anyone with cats in the home.

Grace is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines, heartworm tested, dewormed, and on monthly preventatives, so she’s ready to start her next chapter.

Apply to adopt here:
https://orangecountyva.gov/159/Pet-Adoption-Foster-Care-Information
