Gourd's Story

Meet Gourd! Or as we like to call him, Cheesy Gourdita Crunch Supreme. Gourd is a sweet guy who lives up to his name because he loves food! Treats are the way to his heart, especially cheese! Gourd is a timid fella who can take a while to warm up to people. He has made a lot of progress through the ASPCA's Behavioral Rehabilitation Center and is learning to be brave! He'll need a patient home that gives him time to decompress and help him learn that the world isn't so scary! He likes to go on walks and does well with calmer dogs who don't overwhelm him. Gourd's heart is as big as his ears and all he needs is for someone to give him a chance! With a little bit of TLC (tacos, love and care), this goofy guy could become your new best friend. Come and meet Gourd today!

Rescue Village's Adoption Policy
Adoption surveys are accepted only in-person at the shelter on a first-come, first-served basis during our open hours. When you arrive, you can submit an adoption survey for the animal you are interested in, which will put you in the queue to meet with a Shelter Specialist. We do not make appointments or hold animals. Please Note: On very busy days, we cannot guarantee we will have staff available to facilitate a meet & greet with an animal OR process the adoption – we may ask that you return the next day we are open to the public. During the counseling session, the Shelter Specialist will review important background information about the animal–including all medical and behavioral information we have on record. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions and express any concerns you may have. We’ll talk about considerations to have when welcoming your newest family member into your home and other species-specific topics. We DO NOT require meet & greets between your dog(s) and our adult shelter dogs, but we can conduct them upon request if we have appropriate staffing. We do not conduct meet and greets for puppies, cats, or kittens with your dog(s).
