Gordy's Story

Location: Fredonia, WI
Adoption Fee: $350

Meet Gordy – the one-eyed wonder with a heart of gold!

At just 1 year old, this handsome boy is ready to find a family who will cheer him on as he continues to grow in confidence.

If it squeaks, bounces, rolls, or can be tossed, Gordy is all in! He loves toys of every kind, and when playtime is over, you'll usually find him happily working on a favorite bone. He's also a big foodie, so treats are a great way to win him over and continue his training. Plus, he's already crate trained!

Gordy is still learning that the world isn't such a scary place. Meeting new people can be a little overwhelming, so he'll likely need more than one meet-and-greet to feel comfortable. Because of this, he would do best with someone who has experience helping shy or timid dogs build confidence( No kid home). But once you're in his circle, get ready for a loyal best friend who simply wants to be loved.

A confident, friendly dog sibling would be the perfect role model to help Gordy continue building his confidence. He's also working on his leash-walking skills and is making steady progress. Car rides are still a little scary for him, so he'll need a family willing to help him build positive associations at his own pace.

The good news? He has no prey drive, making him a wonderful fit for many homes.

And yes—Gordy only has one eye, but don't tell him that! He certainly doesn't think he's any different. He runs, plays, explores, and enjoys life just like any other happy pup.

If you have a little patience, a lot of love, experience with shy dogs, and maybe a toy basket that's ready for some action, Gordy just might be the missing piece of your family. Give this special boy a chance, and he'll show you just how amazing he really is.
