Gordon Corgi & Chihuahua Mix Lewisburg, TN

Gordon appears to be a corgi/chihuahua mix found as a stray on Fishing Ford Road. He is an older dog approx. 5-6 years old we believe. He appears to be very possessive of affections, as when you are petting him he growls and barks at the other dogs to keep away. We do not believe he would be suitable for a family with young children or with other alpha dogs who might take his growling as a sign of aggression. Its not. Its just Gordon showing his attention to you the way he knows how...with growls. He has never offered to bite at or be aggressive toward the vols at all
. He weighs 27lbs. and his adoption fee is $71.

By TN state law stray dogs are held for 3 days so they can be found by their owners before being put up for adoption. Rescues are allowed to pull dogs on the day after they are put up for adoption. A dog found as a stray wearing a collar is held for 5 days before it is put up for adoption, and on the 6th day is available to rescue. Our shelter is a first come first adopt/rescue facility.  There are no holds placed on dogs for potential adopters/rescue. They are available at 7am on the day they are available.
The current adoption fee is $71 which includes the dogs spay or neuter, Rabies vaccination, and Distemper/Parvo vaccination at a local vet. .  Dogs are given 2 weeks to find a new home and due to limited space and resources are given a two week euthanasia date on intake.
