Gordo - Chicken - Lucky's Story

THE LANCASTER TRIO — Gordo, Chicken & Lucky

Three little dogs. One devastating surrender. A bond that never broke.

Gordo, Chicken, and Lucky came into the Lancaster shelter as a tightly bonded trio — and that’s exactly how they’re leaving it.

What we didn’t know at first was the heartbreak behind their surrender. These three were turned in by a woman who had just suffered enormous loss: her husband died, she lost her job, she lost her home, and with nowhere left to go, she had to give up the only family she had left. She didn’t abandon them. She was drowning.

When we saw them curled together in one small corner of the kennel — trembling, pressed tightly against one another — we knew immediately we were saving all three. Chicken is the sweetest little shadow who warms up beautifully once he knows he’s safe. He looks to his brothers for comfort and blossoms with gentle reassurance and routine.

LUCKY

The spark of the group — expressive, bright, and joyful. Lucky has a little bounce in his step and brings levity to the trio. He adores his brothers, takes cues from them, and shines when he feels included and secure.

IDEAL HOME

• Must adopt all three — they are a bonded, inseparable trio.
• A calm, stable home where routine comes naturally.
• Humans who understand gentle dogs with soft hearts.
• Other respectful dogs are fine; these three are incredibly dog-social.
• A family who wants companionship times three: three snuggle buddies, three tiny shadows, three hearts that have survived so much and still love anyway.

WHY THEY’RE SPECIAL

Because after losing everything — their person, their home, their sense of safety — the only thing they held onto was each other.

And now, after everything they’ve been through, they deserve a home that will hold onto them, too.
