PLEASE ENTIRE BIO. FLORIDA ADOPTIONS ONLY! Meet Gordo. He's a Havenese mix 2-3 years old weighing 18 lbs. General behavior: He is super sweet once he gets to know you. He enjoys the outdoor a lot and loves going on walks. He loves to play fetch and if given the opportunity will play until he gets tired. He is a total watch dog and makes his presence know when someone rings the doorbell or hears an unusual sound. Watch out when opening front doors he will make a dash for it. Likes and dislikes: He loves his walks and playing fetch. He also loves belly rubs and his treats. He does not like it if you try to take anything away from him and will growl or attempt to bite you. PLEASE NOTE HE HAS MADE CONTACT AND BITTEN BEFORE. You Must give him a treat and he will let go of whatever he has. He does great with his baths but does not like to have his fur dried. He's ok with being brushed as long as it's not his face You will need to bribe him with treats. Training: Gordo is house trained hasn't had any accidents. He goes out in the morning and in the evening for a walk and does his business. He walks well on a leash . At bedtime he goes to his bed and sleeps till morning. Medical: Gordo needs his monthly preventative heart-worm and flea prevention as well as his meds for hyperthyroidism and his behavioral meds (trazodone) Other Animals: Gordo is dog friendly but if the dog barks at him he will bark back. He does not like cats and will chase them. Children: Gordo needs to go to a home with no children under 18. Home: Gordo would do best in a home with fenced and secure back yard. A home where people are around most of the time and are very active. He needs a very patient family that will give him the time to adjust and learn to trust. Grooming: Gordo needs regular grooming as well as, baths, nail trimming and ear cleaning. He will need to be medicated prior to grooming as well. Overall: Gordo is a good dog that deserves a second chance at a pawfect home who understands him and his needs. All he needs is a very patient person that has lots of love to give him.
