Gordie's Story

Meet Gordie! At 1 year and 3 months old and 53lbs, this handsome Lab-Pit Bull mix is a soulful, observant boy who has already come so far since joining us. Gordie is doing his absolute best to "learn how to dog," and while he can be a bit shy at first, his progress has been incredible to witness. In his foster home on a busy farm, he has shown he can handle a lot of activity as long as he has the right guidance.

Gordie is a dream on a leash, naturally walking in a loose heel and checking in with his person for reassurance. Once he feels secure, his goofy and deeply affectionate side truly shines-he'll even rest his chin in your hand when he's looking for a little comfort. To help him continue blossoming, Gordie is looking for a home with another well-behaved, neutral, and confident dog. Having a "canine mentor" to follow and learn from is the absolute key to his success.

Because Gordie is still building his brave side, he is looking for an adult-only home where he can focus on his growth. He currently prefers a cat-free environment, though he may be able to coexist with a very "dog-savvy" cat in the future with a patient, intentional handler. If you have a confident dog and a heart for helping a resilient boy reach his full potential, Gordie is ready to meet you!

*** Fantastic news! Your adult dog adoption comes with a complimentary $250 training session with our partners at Freedom K9, ensuring you and your newly adopted dog embark on a journey of success together.
