Gorda's Story

Meet Gorda

This affectionate 5-year-old pitbull terrier is searching for a stable, loving home after life threw some challenges her family’s way. Her person reached out to us with a heavy heart, wanting only what’s best for Gorda. After being displaced from housing and then living on the road while working, they are now staying temporarily with family in Ellicott City—but the property doesn’t allow Gorda’s breed, making the situation stressful and uncertain. Gorda’s person loves her deeply and wants her to have the steady life she deserves.

Gorda is about 48 lbs and filled with classic pitty sweetness—loving, loyal, playful, and always ready for belly rubs. She has been wonderful with women and children, and while she gets along well with many men, she can be selective with others. She has never bitten anyone or other animals.

She has lived peacefully with one male dog and has also been calm around cats, as long as the cats are respectful. Her dog experience is limited, so meet-and-greets will help her shine her best.

Gorda’s Highlights:
• Sweet, snuggly, and loyal
• Loves belly rubs and playtime
• Great with women and children
• Neutral to cats
• Housetrained and well-mannered
• Ready to bond closely with her new family

Gorda has been through a lot, yet she still has a happy heart and a wagging tail.
