Goose Labrador Retriever & McNab Mix Mobile, AL

Check out this handsome boy!! Goose is around two years old, weighs 63lbs, and was found wandering the streets by one of our volunteers. He had a broken tie out on his collar which likely meant he spent his days tied up outside. He was taken to the shelter in hopes he could find a loving home there. When we found out his status was urgent due to overpopulation and Goose's health needs, we pulled him out and brought him into the rescue.

Goose has been nothing but an INCREDIBLE boy since coming into our care! He is a resilient pup who is very social and always ready to make new friends of all ages. He loves other dogs and enjoys interacting with people, making him a fantastic companion for any home. Taking him out on the town is an absolute joy. He acts like a perfect gentleman when walking around retail stores and he brings smiles to all who meet him. Goose would be perfect for someone looking for an emotional support companion—a dog who is attentive to your needs and also able to be calm in public settings.

Goose loves to eat. He will gobble up his food and ask for more. We use a slow feeder bowl for him which helps him savor his meals. We believe he had food insecurities in his previous situation. While this may not be his best trait—and we recommend keeping food on the counter out of his reach—it also means that Goose is very treat motivated which is great for his continued training. One of his favorite toys is a Kong filled with treats and topped with peanut butter.

We can't say enough great things about this special boy. He truly amazes us every single day. When it's time to relax, Goose enjoys long naps and snuggling with his favorite humans. His love for both adventure and downtime means he would fit in perfectly with an active family that also enjoys cozy evenings at home. Goose is a great car rider and will happily accompany you wherever you want to go. Goose is heartworm positive but his treatment has been fully sponsored and he will have his first injection in Gulfport, MS on June 3rd. We are looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt for Goose as he goes through treatment. Our team will support you every step of the way. Once his treatment is completed, if you as the foster decide you do not want to adopt Goose, we will list him as available for adoption both locally and out of state. Once he's healthy and ready for travel, we're sure he'll find a loving home in no time! Or like we said, we're happy for him to live with you forever!!
