Hi- my name is Goldie! I was found with two other dogs abandoned and trying to survive in a very remote area. We had been trying to survive on our own and were very scared! The kind people here at Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue took us in and helped us with socialization and learning to trust humans. After getting all our vetting done, we are now looking for our furever homes. I am estimated at about one year old and recently weighed in at around 20 lbs. I appear to be a Wheaten and/or Border/Cairn terrier mix- best guess. I am quite friendly and now walk well on leash. I get along well with other dogs (proper introductions please) but try to chase the cats. I'm smart and know how to sit and take treats gently! My $450 adoption fee includes vet check, up-to-date vaccinations, spay, heartworm test (negative), microchip, as well as deworming and preventative while with the rescue. 1) Submit application 2) Application is reviewed for completeness and assigned to an adoption coordinator 3) Adoption coordinator verifies critical information on the application, contacts references and ensures that the requested animal is a good fit for the family 4) Adoption coordinator, in conjunction with rescue management, approves or denies application 5) Upon notification of approval, an adoption coordinator works with foster and adopter to set up an adoption appointment to bring your new family member home! We strive to work through adoption applications as soon as we can. We are 100% volunteer-based so it can take a day or two to complete the review. This also depends on the response time of your references. Should you change your mind or adopt a different animal after submission, please inform us so we do not spend unnecessary time on your application.
