Goldie's Story

Goldie
Spayed
12 Years Old
48 lbs

Goldie is one of those dogs that captures the heart of every single person and dog she meets.

Being around 12 years old, she is the perfect temperament- calm and easygoing and happy to lounge on the couch with you, lay at your feet in the kitchen, or follow you around throughout your day.

She has the sweetest smile, super shiny soft coat, kind eyes, and spotty nose. If you can overlook her slightly stinky old-lady breath, she will do anything she can to get nice and close to you, even sit on your lap, and snuggle all your worries away.

When you approach to pet her, she melts down into the floor, rolling over and requesting belly rubs right away. She is trusting of all people, even young ones! Among her favorite people are her foster siblings- ages 4-12! She especially likes taking turns being allowed to sleep in their rooms at night!

Goldie may be 12, but she still gets zoomies of excitement here and there, and romps in the yard with her furry foster brothers. She has gotten along great with both of the dogs she lives with- is happy to share toys, water bowls, and attention!

She knows how to sit, lay down, give paw, “drop it” with a toy, and is working on stay. She is easily crated when she needs to be and stays quiet too. She is crate trained, house trained, low energy, and good on a leash.

She is very interested in the foster home’s cat, and has been gentle in her limited interactions. But because this cat in particular is very anti-social, they haven’t had a lot of time to get to know each other well.

Sometimes Goldie has to be shown which toys are hers, and which belong to the humans, because she does like to un-stuff the stuffed toys from time to time but will quickly drop anything she picks up that isn’t hers when told.

Goldie Girl is affectionate, gentle, goofy, snuggly, and smart and her forever family will be so, so luck to have her.

Interested in adopting? Submit an adoption application on our website rescuedrascalsil.org!

We will review your application at our earliest convenience. If your application is selected, we will contact you for a phone interview. From there, we’d schedule a meet and greet with the dog to make sure it is a great fit for adoption for the whole family and any other dogs in your home.

Questions about adoption?
