Godwin's Story

Godwin is a 5.5 year Pit Bull and possible Great Dane mix boy that weighs ~70 pounds.

Godwin was taken in by PPC from McKamey Animal Center and has lived here since June 2024. Godwin was found to be positive for heartworms and was underweight. A loving foster family took him home while he completed his heartworm treatment. Godwin is now heartworm free and back to a healthy weight!! Godwin has now been living in a shelter environment for OVER 650 DAYS!

Godwin might be a big guy, but man, does he have a sweet soul. Godwin gets so excited to see his people, often giving hugs and kisses when they come to visit him. He LOVES going on car rides and often just lays down in the back seat or watches out the window. He is a great partner to go on adventures with. He loves walking, hiking, and has a new found love for swimming. Recently, volunteers have noticed that he jumps into the creek and soaks in the river with a big grin on his face. When Godwin plays with his toys, he often always picks the rope toy. He loves playing tug of war or even just fetch with the rope. He will also impress you with all his training skills! He loves all the treats in the world, including the frozen kind: fish skins, chicken broth, and pupsicles!

Godwin is looking for a family who will love him, adventure with him, and of course, snuggle up after a long day. Godwin has shown a prey drive for smaller animals and for this reason, we think Godwin would best benefit from a home with animals his size.

Here is what our awesome dog walking volunteer had to say about him, "Godwin is a wiggly sweetheart with the ones he knows……he’s a great hiking partner, an excellent car rider and because he’s not going to be seeking attention form strangers, he will form an incredible bond with the lucky one who adopts him. He also super enjoyed his romp in the river."

We're open Wednesday - Sunday 12 - 5 p.m but are doing meet & greets and adoptions by appointment only.

The adoption fee is $135 which includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up to date vaccinations, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, dewormer, flea preventative, microchip, & spay or neuter.

If you are interested in this pet, please fill out our ADOPTION APPLICATION at https://bit.ly/3HN4Tqq

Visit our website at www.PetPlacementCenter.com
