Gladys's Story

BACKSTORY: One of our interaction team members was at DuPage County Animal Services evaluating dogs for the rescue when she sent the board a picture of a senior terrier mix that she fell in love with. To say she was obsessed is an understatement! It’s no secret that we have a soft spot for overlooked and senior dogs, and that rings true for one of our fosters so we contacted her right away. And low and behold she was on her way in no time to go pick her up! EDUCATION: * Sit * Potty trained * Lower energy ACTIVITIES THIS CUTIE ENJOYS: * Treats: not picky but dislikes hard treats. She also likes french fries! * Food: soft Fromm food and Fromm kibble * Toys: not into toys * Going on walks * Going on errands * Car rides * Belly rubs * Going on adventures SKILLS: * Dogs: friendly, cautious * Kids: friendly, recommend 10+ years of age because she's a senior * People: friendly, overexcited * Cats: not friendly * Walks: superstar CHALLENGES: * She will only poop while on a walk * Can be a little mouthy when excited but it doesn't last * Vocal when excited or spooked * Hates being alone * Barks at doorbells and knocking THE PERFECT HOME: * Will work to help her lose weight * Will take her on lots of walks * Will understand she needs walks to poop * Will be home most of the time * Be willing to take her on errands and car rides * Is fine with her barking at certain times HER FOSTER SAYS: * She seems confused with a fenced yard and will only poop while on walks * She doesn't need to be crated. She is house trained and does fine being left in a bedroom when they aren't home * She is not destructive * She likes giving kisses * She enjoys other dogs and likes to play with them Adoption applications available at Chitownpitties.org
