I need a new home as I was released from a breeder. I am being fostered in Kansas City, MO. <br/><br/>I likely spent most of my life in a kennel so I need assistance with learning how to play and trust humans. Good humans is a new thing for me—I really need someone to love me and show me how to be pet. I would probably do best with a quiet home, at least until I get more comfortable.<br/><br/>My favorite sleeping spot is a custom corral—this gives me some room to roam in case I need to go potty on my pad or get a drink. I am most comfortable in my corral area but need to be placed in there.<br/><br/>I’m never in trouble. I listen and watch very intently. I’m learning how to be a dog and letting someone love me the right way.<br/><br/>I am working on potty training, I have no issues with going potty outside on command, I go every time with my mom who takes me out about 4 times a day. And when I say she takes me out—she actually picks me up and takes me out. <br/><br/> I’m very timid with my surroundings so I struggle with moving too much but I feel safe with my mom. Hence why I’m a little overweight. I do well with my baths. <br/><br/>I’m very nervous with people but good with other dogs. My foster mom works from home and leaves me in my corral while she works. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.<br/><br/>MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue's Adoption Policy
There is no fee for submitting an application with us. We are not affiliated with any other organization so we do require our application to be submitted in order to be considered. We prefer applications be completed online, We DO adopt to families with fenced in yards or those that live in apartments/condos. MABTR offers a two-week trial period with each adoption to ensure your new dog is a good fit. You only need to complete one application per household, not per dog of interest. MABTR will do our best to help transport any adopted dog within the 13 states we serve. We do not adopt outside of our service area, no exceptions. It may take us up to four days to process your application as we review applications twice a week.
