Girly Pop's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Girly Pop

Sweet, sassy, and smart—Girly Pop is a 1- to 2-year-old female Chihuahua mix weighing about 11-12 lbs. She was found as a stray near the Biloxi YMCA and it took a full week to safely capture her. Now she’s ready for a loving home to call her own.

About Girly Pop

Breed: Chihuahua mix
Age: 1–2 years old
Weight: ~11–12 lbs
Gender: Female (unaltered)
Heartworm Status: Positive (currently in treatment)
Location: Gulfport/Biloxi, MS (Local Adoption Only)

Girly Pop is a clever little escape artist who can jump or wiggle her way out of enclosures and even slip a leash, so a secure yard and someone willing to work with her are a must. She’s a chewer at times but overall a very loving, intelligent dog who craves attention and cuddles.

She’s great with other dogs of all sizes and enjoys their company. With people, she warms up nicely—she’ll often roll over to show her belly—but she can be startled if handled roughly. She has had incidents of nipping when scared or jealous, so a calm, experienced home would be best.

She’s not fully housebroken yet (she still has accidents at night) but is crate- and baby-gate trained for when left alone. She can be left for up to eight hours, though she loves to be near her people when possible.

Ideal Home

Girly Pop would do well in a home with another friendly dog to play with and someone who enjoys a little spunky personality in a small package. Because she’s an escape artist and startles easily, a home with secure fencing and no small children would be ideal.

Adoption Info

Girly Pop is heartworm-positive and currently undergoing treatment. She’s available for local adoption only through Tired Dog Rescue. If you’re ready to give this sweet, intelligent little girl the safe and loving home she deserves, please apply with Tired Dog Rescue.

Tired Dog Rescue adoption fee includes all sets of vaccinations, heartworm test, fecal exam, spay/neuter and microchip. We also recommend that you research the breed that you want to adopt. Ask yourself....Can you afford the cost of a high maintenance dog such as a Cocker Spaniel or Shih-tzu etc? The grooming costs are about 50.00 every 6-8 weeks. Are you in a position to adopt a puppy which will require training? Can you afford the medical costs that might be involved in adopting a senior pup? We want every adoption to be for life so please think about what you can and what you are willing to do before considering each pet. If you are unsure please contact us and we can help answer any questions.
