Girlie Pop

Girlie Pop has come a little more out of her shell now as she's settled into her temporary foster home! She's a very sweet girl who could probably fit a variety of homes. While she does like to run and play sometimes, it seems like she only has a few short bursts in her per day for zoomies or fetch before she's ready to settle down and nap for awhile and cuddle up and watch TV. <br/><br/>She's learning her basic commands well (sit, come, go to your crate) but she'll need some extra training for leash reactivity for her prey drive (she lunges on walks to chase lizards, bicycles, cars, etc.)<br/><br/>She's a quiet girl who rarely barks, even on walks! She wants to see other dogs and get to them but doesn't show any signs of aggression (no growling/barking). <br/><br/>Girlie Pop is entirely house broken! She has not had a single accident in the house yet. She also hasnt chewed on any furniture, she's a very good girl!<br/><br/>Girlie Pop does not display any signs of separation anxiety. She is crate trained, loves her crate, and will willingly put herself in with the door open when she is ready to nap and relax. <br/><br/>While at home, Girlie Pop will check in with her humans periodically and sometimes sits behind me while I work from home but does not beg for attention or obsessively follow people around. She is happy to rest in another room and self-soothe/entertain. <br/><br/>She does not display any signs of food aggression with humans and is happy to share her kibble while she's eating if you try to take some although we have not had the chance to test this with other dogs, only people. <br/><br/>Based on her demeanor, I would say shes well suited for a variety of living situations as she is very gentle around the house and seems to be satisfied with exercise just from leashed walks (although we obviously give her more than that). <br/><br/>We have not tested Girlie Pop around children or cats yet. Due to her high prey drive on walks, a house without cats or small animals (birds, hamsters, reptiles, etc) likely would be preferred. As for children, she is very sweet and gentle, but can also be somewhat apprehensive around unpredictable movements from humans (cowering or whale-eyeing if you reach over her too quickly). She would probably do best around older children who can understand and exercise proper dog safety/handling procedures. However, she should ONLY be handled by responsible adults on walks.
