If you have an active lifestyle and like to run and hike, I'm your girl. My name is Ginny, I'm a labrador retriever mix and I was born in April of 2025. I'm about 47 pounds so I'm the perfect size...not too big, not too small. I'll only be adopted to a home in Hanover County, VA, the Richmond Metro area, or counties adjacent to Hanover.<br/><br/>Most likely I'm a Labrador Retriever mixed with some type of herding dog like a Border Collie. I walk well on leash. I love to play fetch and will chase after the ball for as long as you want to keep throwing it. I'm affectionate and love to sit in your lap (I don't realize that I'm 47 pounds, lol). I've been stuck at Hanover Humane for a few months now because I don't show well to potential adopters - I'm so excited to see new people that I jump and bark and carry on because there's a barrier between us. I did originally live in an apartment with other dogs and some cats and got along fine with them, but I was a lot younger then and my friends here at Hanover Humane think with my adult activity level that I'm not a good fit for an apartment/condo, or townhouse with a small or no yard unless you are VERY ACTIVE and will take me out for long exercises multiple times a day. I need space to run and someone to keep me stimulated both mentally and physically. For off-leash, my space will need to have a TALL fence, as I'm a prolific jumper. Agility dog training, anyone?
