We are in love with this mighty little fireball. Gingerbread is a healthy and happy 4 month old little boy who weighs in at a whopping 7 lbs.!!!! We think his adult weight could be 20-50 lbs, but please note, that is not a guarantee of weight at all, he was a surrender with no information on parentage. He is a very smart little boy, learning new things everyday, he knows how to navigate puppy stairs to get on the sofa and out to the back yard down 3 steps for play and to work on potty training. He is a busy smiley guy. He lovvvvees teething toys, soft toys, and when left unattended human shoes! (typical puppy, right?)<br/><br/>Gingerbread loves to play with the other pups in his foster home as well as plays on his own. He requires another dog in his home to play with, he needs a a home that has time to dedicate to him, and of course, like any puppy, he likes to chew on things so you’ll need a watchful eye. He picks up anything and everything that is in front of him, so he will need age appropriate puppy chew toys and a quick human to take rocks, twigs and anything he wants to put in his mouth while outside. After playtime, he will settle down in a soft puppy bed or lap to relax. Please remember, puppies require ALOT of time, patience and consistency, his tiny bladder cannot hold it for several hours, so he will need patience while he is learning potty training. Also, don’t forget, they can be “curious” so you’ll need to puppy proof your home for his safety. He will need a home with watchful eyes to make sure he doesn’t get into things he is not supposed to. A work from home family, or one who only works away from the home for just a few hours a day will be given preference. <br/><br/>Gingerbread would love a family that will continue to show him all the good things that life has to offer. Since he is currently so small, If there are children in the home, it is recommended that they be 8+ and small dog experienced. He is fast and so small he can get under feet quickly and sometimes unnoticed. He will need to be in a home where his people are agile and very alert to keep an eye out for him. He is looking for a home with another similar sized dog for him to play with and learn from. <br/><br/>Gingerbread has been neutered, is current on his age appropriate vaccines, microchipped and started on his heartworm and flea prevention. Also note, this little doll will require regular grooming which can average anywhere from $60.00-$120.00 per visit, so you’ll need to figure that into your budget as well.<br/><br/>If you’d like to add this little cutie to your family, please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application.<br/><br/>Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida resident, and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If you’ve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years, please provide all the names and number for each vet. This breed typically lives 15-18 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pets estimated lifespan. <br/><br/>All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, with families, jobs and pets of our own, so please be kind and patient. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application.
