Ginger's Story
December 28 update:
Meet Ginger 🔥🐶

Ginger is a 1-year-old, 50-pound German Shepherd with big energy, a sharp mind, and an even bigger drive to engage. She's incredibly food motivated and genuinely enjoys training, which makes her the kind of dog who thrives with structure, consistency, and purpose...three things that are hard to come by in a shelter environment. Because of that, let's be real...Ginger is a lot.

Right now, Ginger struggles because she doesn't get the consistent feedback and stimulation she needs. She can be mouthy, but it's not aggression. It's a smart, high-energy dog asking for direction and an outlet. With regular training, clear boundaries, and mental & physical enrichment, Ginger has the potential to be an incredible partner for someone who understands her needs.

This is not a couch potato dog.
This is a dog for someone who wants to train, who enjoys building a relationship, and who understands that leadership and consistency are love. She is good with other dogs, and in a calm, structured environment, she would likely learn from the other dogs at home.

Ginger is waiting for the person who sees her energy not as a problem, but as possibility. But she's been waiting already for 75 days, and it's taking its toll. She is an urgent case.

If you're experienced with German Shepherds or high-drive dogs and looking for a project worth investing in, Ginger might just be your girl.

November 3
At just 11 months old and under 50 pounds, Ginger is the perfect medium-sized bundle of joy. This beautiful young shepherd is vaccinated, spayed, and ready to go home today if her special person comes along!
Ginger has that wonderful, fun kind of puppy energy--playful, curious, and always ready for an adventure. She'll keep you smiling with her goofy antics and big heart. Whether it's exploring the yard, going for walks, or learning new tricks, she's eager to be by your side.
If you're looking for an enthusiastic, loving companion who's ready to grow with you, Ginger is your girl! Come meet her and see just how special she is. 🧡🐾Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.

Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.

Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM.
All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet.
Fees:
Dogs over 6 months old: $100
Puppies under 6 months: $200.
Cats and Kittens are $75 ($65 without microchip).

For your convenience you can fill out an adoption application for any of our current residents at www.moaspets.com. Join us on Facebook at
https://www.facebook.com/moaspets. It's a great way to stay up to the minute on the furry 4 legged friends we have looking for a loving forever home.
We are located at:
1888 Colbert Danielsville Rd
Danielsville, GA 30633
706-795-2868

NOTE: Our adoptions are first come first served, simply filling out an application does not mean the animal will be held for you, you must come meet the animal in person in order to be considered for adoption.
If you rent you must bring your lease or a letter from your landlord stating you may adopt.
