Ginger is an adorable shepherd-mix, about eight years old, and she would like nothing better than to find her family - either foster or forever. Ginger is a playful, active dog who takes some time to get to know new people. You will need patience and probably several meetings with her for that to happen. Once she feels comfortable with you, she can be a loyal and lovable companion. She does need to be an only pet - but she will provide all the companionship you want or need. She loves being with her people - so if you work from home or if you're retired, she'd enjoy keeping you company. A securely fenced yard where she can spend time with you in nice weather would be a real plus for her. Ginger's ideal home would be with one or two adults with a quiet lifestyle who have experience with the breed. She would not do well in a busy home, with a lot of people coming and going. Furry Friends Foster and Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy

Our goal is to help you find a wonderful new family member! We work closely with you to ensure that the dog you adopt will be a wonderful match for your family's make-up and lifestyle. Our adoption and foster placement processes includes an application, personal and vet reference checks, a home visit, and a meet and greet with the dog and all family members and other pets. Placement is considered on the basis of the best interests of the dog and the best fit with the family - we do not adopt on a "first come, first served" basis. We do not transport our dogs outside of the state of CT. If you live outside of CT and are able to travel to us after an application is approved, with your family and other pets, for a meet and greet and to complete the adoption in CT if that goes well, you're welcome to apply to adopt one of our dogs, as long as you live in one of the New England states. We do not adopt our dogs long-distance, or outside of the New England area. PLEASE NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes within the state of CT. We do not have a facility. For that reason we ask that you go through the application/approval process prior to a meet and greet, which is always part of our placement protocol. We do this because we try to keep our foster families' day to day lives s uninterrupted as possible. You can fill out an adoption application at our website.
