Ginger

Ginger was born July 24th 2025. <br/><br/>Ginger is a good girl. She is very smart but she has a stubborn streak.<br/><br/>She is trained for her kennel and likes to sleep there. <br/><br/>She is house broken, she spends 90 percent of her day inside with us. She has rare accidents. <br/><br/>Her commands: sit, stay, down, drop it ( if she has something in her mouth), kennel, wait when going down stairs, she will get excited and pull that leash hard.. we are still working on that but do have her waiting on stairs. <br/><br/>I dont free feed her. She has her own bowl and she eats twice a day and a little snack at bed time. I do make her sit and wait for command prior to eating because she has a tendency to want to guard the bowl. This helps a lot and lately I have allowed more freedom but if she reverts back to wanting to protect the bowl we go back to sit/ stay until I release her. I avoid high value treats for the most part ( yummy long term chewy type treats) due to her tendency to want to guard. So things she can quickly consume or bully sticks seem to work well. <br/><br/>She is very protective of her home and people and Leary of strangers by her property. She will warm up fast with a few minutes of time.<br/><br/>Currently, she is living in a foster home with other dogs and cats.
