Ginger's Story

About Ginger
Ginger is a bright, bouncy four‑month‑old pit bull puppy with a whole lot of heart. Like many pitties, she’s already showing how affectionate, smart, and people‑oriented she is. Ginger is always eager to be near her humans and always ready for her next adventure.
She came to us as a stray, so her past is a bit of a mystery, but Ginger has made it very clear who she is now: playful, curious, and endlessly loving. She’s full of puppy energy and enthusiasm. Whether she’s chasing a toy, exploring new smells, or curling up for a nap, Ginger does everything with her whole little self.
She’s healthy, growing beautifully, and has that wonderful goofy puppy charm that’s hard not to fall in love with.

Training & Support
At this age, Ginger is a little sponge ready to soak up all the learning she can. She’s motivated by treats and praise, which will make training both smooth and enjoyable. Positive, reward‑based methods will help her build confidence and learn good manners. She’s still figuring out the big world around her, so gentle guidance and consistency will be her best tools.

Ideal Home
Ginger will thrive in a home that can keep up with her active, playful nature. She’d love a family that enjoys walks, playtime, and lots of cuddles. A yard would be great for her zoomies, but it’s not required. What she needs most is time, engagement, and love.
Because she’s still learning boundaries, a home with older children who understand puppy behavior would suit her best. She may also enjoy living with another friendly, patient dog who can help show her the ropes.
With steady guidance and lots of affection, Ginger will blossom into a loyal, joyful companion, the kind of dog who becomes the center of the household in the best possible way.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ready to Apply?

If you would like to meet Ginger, please download an application from our website at:

vancouver.ca/adoption-form

Then, email your complete application to: animal.shelter@vancouver.ca

If your application is approved, we will contact you to arrange a meet and greet.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
All adult dogs at Animal Services have veterinary health checks, and are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and defleaed (if necessary) before going to their new homes.
Children: Yes
Cats: Yes
Dogs: Yes
Training Needs: Puppy Training
Adoption Fee: $391

If you live in the City of Vancouver, you will also need to purchase a dog licence.

For more information on our adoption process, go to vancouver.ca/adopt
