She came to us from a puppy mill where she was used to have puppies until they didn't want her any longer. Due to her past, she is very fearful of new people and will require a patient adopter who is willing to help her continue to grow and give her the wonderful life she deserves.<br/><br/>She does love other dogs, so she will do best in a home where there is another dog around her size and age. This will help her become more confident and have a safe space. She has been with her current foster mom for quite some time, and has not been around children or men.<br/><br/>Gigi knows to go potty outside, but she does have occasional accidents still. We want to be completely transparent that Gigi does not walk well on a leash, and she is not likely to be a cuddly lap dog. She has so much potential in her sweet soul to just want to be with someone who will appreciate her for who she is. <br/><br/>We would recommend that her potential family have a fenced in yard for her to exercise and potty safely. As a mill dog she is considered a flight risk, and a fence will help provide extra security (including the fact that she does not do well on a leash).<br/><br/>Gigi Bardot is truly a beautiful girl, and hopes that someone is out there who is willing to give her all the love she deserves.<br/><br/>If you would like to meet this adorable dog an application must be filled out https://www.cognitoforms.com/New2URescues/AdoptionApplication<br/><br/>We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs.<br/><br/>All our dogs have been treated with de-wormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 months or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption. <br/><br/>We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess.
