Gigi is a ten-month-old Beagle? mix who beautifully illustrates the transformative power of love and compassion. Despite not always being treated with kindness before she came in to rescue, and displaying a fear of other dogs that lead to a lack of socialization in her prior life, GiGi is an attentive, goofy, affectionate cuddlebug who will show her smarts and athleticism by retrieving on command and tackling a challenging obstacle course. Her foster just knew she needed an opportunity to become her best self and boy did she deliver – after proper introductions Gigi has proved she actually loves playing with other dogs! She is quiet and happy in her crate, does not table surf or destructively chew and she has beautiful house manners. Gigi needed a trusted, reassuring presence to let her know that the outside world is actually not a big and scary place, and we want her to have that confident leadership in her new home. Gigi is young – still under a year old – and she has made significant progress over the past few weeks, so we are confident she will continue to transform! Her foster reports that Gigi is absolutely perfect in the house/car/yard and you can see the intelligence and loving soul beaming through her eyes. She is learning new commands at an absolutely amazing rate and will obey not only the adults but the kids in the household as well.
