Gidget's Story

Gidget is a super sweet, smart girl who we think is around a year old. She was pulled from a local shelter where she was terrified. Within hours of leaving the shelter she blossomed into the happiest, most loving pup. She's still a little nervous in new situations but she's super smart and once she feels safe with her people, she bonds hard. She's such an affectionate girl!

Gidget is spayed, vaccinated, on prevention and microchipped. She's all set for a family. She seems to do best with dogs her size and gets intimidated by a bigger dog. She doesn't want to share her food with other dogs and will correct them if they try to nose in on her food. She has a little barrier reactivity when she's in her crate and will bark at another dog coming near but she's happy with the pups outside her crate. She's great with cats and our cats love her. She can be a little jumpy when she's excited so older children are recommended. Considering her breed, adopters should understand any potential traits like mouthiness, "herding", and a need for mental activity to keep her happy. We haven't seen any nipping or herding but that could be something she does as she gets older or settled into a home so understanding and training for her breed is important.

If you'd like more information, message us at Happy Tails Ranch Rescue. We also have a FB page. We currently are not adopting to families with children under 6 years old.
