Gideon

Gideon is a 1-year-old male Chihuahua who came to the Utah Animal Advocacy Foundation from a local shelter where he had been abandoned by his previous owners. Gideon has a spinal cord injury and is completely paralyzed in his back end. He is a happy little guy and gets around quite well on his front legs, but unfortunately, he is incontinent. He has to wear diapers and needs to have his bladder expressed at least twice a day to help prevent bladder infections. Gideon has also had some issues with separation anxiety and has unintentionally injured himself when left alone by chewing on his back feet (because he can't feel them). Because of all these issues, Gideon needs a new home where he is supervised 24 hours a day. He is adorable and worth every second, but we want to make sure his new home is really committed to giving him the level of care he needs and deserves! Besides his disability, Gideon is a healthy little guy and should have a relatively normal life expectancy. He is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped.
