Gia's Story

***02/18/26 - G-G-G-Gia pet!
This once feral beastie is slowly but surely having her glow up moment!! Look how great she has been adapting to her pack! She looooves to snuggle her foster siblings, and has been learning so much from them. She is still working on potty training and trusting people. Gia will follow you around and will tolerate pets and cuddles but is still tense and slowly learning to love affection!
Interested in adopting Gia? Fill out an application at www.aychihuahuarescue.org/adopt

**02/07/26 - Meet Gia!
Gia and her sister Hazel come to us from South Texas, RGV. This sweet girl 💕 came in as a feral baby 🍼 and over the last couple of weeks she has been slowly opening up and is making strides to battle the past she has had to endure to make it here.
Gia loves people, but is still so shy and nervous 🫦 she will follow you around, want to be petted and loved, but runs away overwhelmed. But everyday she is getting closer 🥰. Gia and Hazel came in together, but we had to work to separate them for the best chance to learn and grow as individuals. And boy was it the right decision! Despite Gia being about 7 years old, she has already been learning soooo much from her foster family now that she has freedom.
Gia still needs love, and time to come out of her shell, but we are excited to see who she will become! Gia is 7 lbs, and is just an adorable lil deer 🦌 and gorgeous 🥰. So she is just going to continue to get more and more amazing 🤩 with time and patience.
Gia will need a family with another dog that can continue to help teach her how to be an indoor dog and her best self. She will need someone patient and loving so that she can continue to grow and become the goddess we know she can be.
Interested in Gia, fill out an application at www.aychihuahuarescue.org/adopt

**01/22/26 - New intake from the Valley, 7 yrs, 7 lbs
