Ghost 's Story

Ghost is a gem. He has good looks, a sweet disposition, and a willingness to get along with others. He arrived at our shelter as a stray, underweight and ungroomed. He likely came from a home with too many dogs and too little attention. He is now cleaned up and happily eating his way to a healthier weight. He is currently 48 pounds and gaining.

Ghost is in his prime at 3-5 years old. He is affectionate, playful, and walks well on a leash. He has been friendly to the other dogs he has met, and his interactions with very small dogs and cats here at the shelter have been good. He expresses such joy and a desire to please the humans who spend time with him. If you are looking for a gentle, intelligent, contented friend, Ghost will be hard to resist once you meet him.

Thank you for considering Ghost and supporting our small, rural animal shelter. Powell County Animal Shelter 's Adoption Policy
We have an application form that gives us information about potential adopters' homes and family situations. This helps us to determine if an animal will be safe in their new environment, and if the new owner would be willing and financially able to care for a new pet and to commit to keeping it for the span of its natural life. In addition to logistical and practical questions, we encourage potential owners to think about how they will live daily with a new pet, and to understand what a lifelong commitment to a pet means.
