GHOST's Story

Meet Ghost — Professional Toy Collector, Amateur Track Star, Future Best Friend Ghost is a 1-year-old Pit Bull mix whose life philosophy can best be summarized as: “Why walk calmly when we could arrive at top speed?” This energetic young guy is easy to leash and happily trots right out of his kennel, immediately ready to begin his very important daily schedule of running, playing, toy hoarding, and making new friends. Ghost pulls hard on leash because apparently every outing is an Olympic event, but a harness helps a lot and gives his humans a fighting chance. Once he hit the agility yard, he fully embraced his natural role as Director of Recreation. This boy LOVES toys. Stuffed toys? Amazing. Squeaky toys? Incredible. Tennis balls? Life-changing. His favorite activity is carrying toys around proudly like tiny trophies he personally hunted in the wild. He’s also treat motivated, knows sit, stay, and come, and takes treats gently like a polite little gentleman who briefly remembers his manners between zoomies. Ghost seems friendly with multiple dogs through the fence and honestly appears very interested in making dog friends. He spent a lot of time more focused on toys and other dogs than on his human companion, which is pretty typical for a young social butterfly with endless energy. A playful dog buddy could be right up his alley. He handled trips into the admin building and volunteer room without any problems and returned easily to his kennel in exchange for a toy and frozen toilet paper roll — proving that while Ghost may be energetic, he is not above accepting bribes. If you’re looking for a goofy, athletic, toy-obsessed young dog who’s equal parts chaos and charm, Ghost is ready to sprint directly into your life.
