Gertie's Story

If you're looking for a loyal, gentle companion with plenty of love (and a little playfulness!) to give, Gertie might be your perfect match.

Despite being a senior, Gertie still has plenty of pep in her step. She loves to play and is happiest when she's surrounded by friends - dogs, people, and kids are all her favorites. She's also good with cats, though she may greet them with a little extra enthusiasm at first.

Gertie is fully house-trained and does beautifully when left home for a few hours. She can be chatty when she's having fun at the dog park or asking for affection, but she's a great listener and settles down when asked.

Most of all, Gertie is a snuggly, affectionate lovebug who just wants to be close. She's sweet from tip to tail and would thrive in almost any home, as long as she's loved.

Gertie came to IAR when her owner could no longer care for her, through no fault of her own. She's spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current on vaccines and preventatives. Now she's ready for a new chapter with a family who will adore her as much as she adores them.
