Gerald's Story

Gerald came to the shelter in very rough shape. He was extremely underweight and weak, and at first could barely stand. With careful feeding and close veterinary care, Gerald slowly regained his strength and healed.

Gerald has been through a lot. At 6 years old, this sweet pit mix has had his share of hard times — including recently losing an eye. But you'd never know it from his sunny disposition. He's healed up, he's happy, and he is ready for his person.
Here's the thing about Gerald: he is genuinely the easiest dog. No jumping. No countersurfing. No chaos. He takes treats like a perfect gentleman, he's fully house trained, and his idea of a perfect day is finding a warm patch of sun or the softest bed in the house and just being.
He's not asking for much — just someone to give him all the love he's never had enough of.
Gerald would thrive as an only pet, where he can finally be the center of someone's world. Pitt Friends's Adoption Policy
Thank you for considering adopting from Pitt Friends! The first step in our adoption process is filling out our application, which you can find at pittfriends.com. If your application is approved, the foster family will reach out to you directly to arrange a meet and greet at a mutually agreeable time and place. We do not have a shelter facility. All of our animals live in foster care full time, in the homes of our volunteers. Our adoption fee is $200 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, deworming, and any other medical care that is required prior to adoption. A home check and vet reference are required prior to adoption. Each dog has different needs, so if one particular dog is not the right fit for your home, we may be able to recommend another that is a better match!
