Gerald's Story

Gerald is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.

"Don't you just love my ears?" This is what Gerald will ask you when you come to meet him! This teeny, super-sweet quiet guy might play a little shy on first meet but once you’re in his inner circle, he’ll happily become your pint-sized loyal shadow. Around 4-years old, Gerald is a social butterfly with friendly dogs of all shapes and sizes and will do best with a canine buddy to gain confidence and show him the ropes. He’s super easy to handle and groom, loves being held, and is very food-motivated (bribery works).

Gerald adores walks and has bursts of energy outside but is a champion napper inside. He’s still learning the house rules (currently rocking a fashionable belly band while he figures out the whole “no marking” thing), but thrives on a consistent schedule. He may protest a bit when first entering his crate but he settles in quickly. Are you ready to give Gerald love, snacks, more snacks, and cozy sofa time wrapped in blankets to help this adorable and mighty superstar become all he was born to be?

Interested in adopting this dog?
Visit our website (https://www.sccrescue.org/) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend.

We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog.

Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!
