Georgie's Story

Georgie! COURTESY POST ONLY Not a Lucky Day dog
Georgie is a very sweet 2 year old blue heeler mix who loves outdoor adventures, playing with other dogs and snuggling with her humans. She loves running through the snow and carrying sticks too big for her. She will hike with you all day every day or happily hang around the house after a neighborhood walk. She is highly food motivated and enjoys training, she would do best with regular opportunities to train and work her brain. She's about 50-55lb, healthy, spayed and is up to date on vaccines.
She has been a part of our family for most of her life, since she was about 9 weeks old, and has been a wonderful dog. However, since the birth of our first child, she has become increasingly protective of our home, and anxious around visitors she doesn't know. She would do best in a quieter home that can slowly introduce her to new people inside the home with patience and the structure of her training plan made from a professional dog trainer. She does warm up to new people with gradual introduction, then becomes very affectionate and excited to see her new friends. Once you're in, you're in! She loves other dogs, but does not like very young puppies. She is great with our baby, but anxious around young children and has trouble curbing her herding instincts. She would do best in a home without small children. She is such a special, smart, sweet dog who we know will thrive in a new home! We would be happy to pay for training sessions to help with the transition. Contact Tessa for more info on 970-769-1439 or tessjohns@gmail.com
