Georgie's Story

Georgie is a sweet long-hair chihuahua mix who is starting to truly blossom. After spending much of his life in survival mode, he’s now discovering how wonderful it is to feel safe and loved.

Georgie does great with other dogs and is not aggressive at all. In his foster home, he happily lives with 3 other dogs, including an alpha female, and takes everything in stride. Even better, he’s recently learned how to play! You’ll find him zooming around the yard chasing his foster buddy, or wrestling on the couch with playful growls and gentle gnawing. This joy is all brand new for him!

With people, Georgie needs a little time and patience. He’s cautious around new faces and may retreat to his crate at first. His crate is his safe space, and he uses it on his own when he needs comfort. With gentle reassurance, he warms up quickly around new people and once Georgie realizes everything is okay, he’s just fine meeting someone new.

Once trust is built, Georgie is an absolute love. He enjoys being brushed, petted, and held like a baby! He adores cuddling with his person and will shower you with kisses when he feels safe. One of his cutest traits? A little “seal crawl” he does to show affection and gratitude!

Georgie walks nicely on a leash and is obedient during outings. Potty training is going very well. He knows cues like “outside” and “potty” and will happily head to the yard when the door opens.

Georgie is a gentle soul who will thrive in a patient, loving home with folks who understand trust takes time. Watching him flourish, play, and finally enjoy life is incredibly special. He’s ready for a forever home where he can continue being the dog he was always meant to be.
