We have a thorough application that is completed by the applicant. This includes number and age of people in household, hours away from the home, other pets in the home, and yard type (enclosed, community, etc.) Once we receive this information, we do a vet reference check for existing pets which must be current and up to date on vaccines AND spayed/neutered. We complete a public background check, auditor check (or) do a landlord verification for pet policy confirmation and a phone screen with the applicant before a meet and greet is set up. If for any reason we are not comfortable with or feel that the applicant is not a suitable match for our pet, then we will not complete the adoption.
