George's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

George is a beautiful 2 1/2 year old mini-doodle who came to DASH from Columbus Humane when they reached out to see if we could give him a better chance at adoption and to get him into a foster home, as he wasn't doing well in the shelter environment. He is all doodle, with all the doodle energy and cuddles. He is a very affectionate boy who likes to play, be curious and cuddle with his foster parents every chance he gets. He is house trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. His favorite thing to do is playing with his toys. George does have noticeable scarring on his muzzle from an abusive situation where his previous owners taped his mouth shut to stop him from barking. We think this just adds to his handsomeness and he has not shown any signs of being scared or timid with his foster parents. He plays well with other dogs, but is very energetic, so his new home should have other high energy or tolerant dogs that won't be annoyed with his antics. George can also be vocal with surprise noises or distractions outside, but is doing much better with correction and distraction. He enjoys sleeping in bed with his foster parents as well. His ideal forever home would be with someone who works from home or is home most of the day, older children who respect his space, and who are committed to continue to work with him on controlling his excitement and barking. Experience with previously abused dogs is a plus, but not required. as the 2 biggest things he needs is understanding and patience and he will be a lifelong companion and best friend.
