George's Story
Meet George!!!

George is a 2-year-old, 55-pound bundle of happy energy who’s ready for his next chapter. He came to us when his previous family had to move and couldn’t take him along, through no fault of his own. George is known for his cheerful personality and love of the outdoors—running around, playing ball, and chasing after tennis balls or squeaky toys are some of his favorite things. He already knows basic cues like sit, shake, and down, giving him a great foundation to build on.

Like many young adult dogs, George still has some skills to learn. He would benefit from continued training, especially to improve his leash manners and help him feel more comfortable around other dogs. His former owner shared that he can be a bit stubborn about going potty and does best with a clear verbal cue, but with consistency and patience, he’s shown he can do well. He’s a smart dog who just needs guidance and structure to help him thrive.

George would do best as the only animal in the home, where he can soak up all the attention and continue growing in confidence. Because he can be a little shy at first, we recommend that all family members meet him prior to adoption to ensure a good fit. With the right home—one that enjoys playtime, outdoor adventures, and ongoing training—George has the potential to be a loyal, fun-loving companion.

He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives.
If you have further questions, please call the shelter at (517) 626-6060 or email our adoption staff at adoptions@AdoptLansing.org.
