George is the sweetest little boy, he will be a little stand offish in the beginning. When he knows he can trust you, he will be your best friend! He has great house manners, will sit for a treat, loves his foster mom and canine siblings. NOT FOND of his foster Dad or any MALE who visits.
George needs a special home, one that consists of a female and preferably a canine sibling, he has Social Anxiety (he does fine when around just his foster mom) when only George and siblings you would never know George has any issues at all.
He loves car rides! Loves going to H-E-B in a side carrier, anywhere he is allowed he would love to go! He changes when out of his element and shows no signs of anxiety. His anxiety comes when he feels like he needs to protect his human at home. George is a “sneak attacker” when it comes to men. He will wait till they are walking away and go for the ankle. He has never growled or lashed out at his Foster mom whatsoever. George picks one person to be his person and will love that person unconditionally. George is crated during the day, but hates it! He would much rather be in a home with someone who works from home or is only gone a couple of hours. However, if he has a sibling that is also crated I believe it makes it easier on him. He loves to sit on the couch right next to you, gives tons of free kisses! He will not jump up on any furniture ( he will scratch at your legs till you pick him up.) He loves to sleep under the covers or right next to you, great watch dog if he hears anything he will let you know! Once he gets attached to you he will always be one step behind, so if a shadow isn’t what you’re looking for George is not for you! George is a really great boy, he just needs to be in the right environment where he feels safe and isn’t stressed with a lot of people coming and going. With occasional company he could just be placed in another room and we believe he would be fine.

** Please note: Due to their size, our dogs are not suitable for homes with children under 5.

The only way to find out if one of our pups will be a good fit in your home is to fill out the online application on the Lil Paws website. Lil Paws is a very small organization, our volunteer time is reserved for interested persons who have filled out the application to adopt.

We do not have a facility, all dogs are fostered in the homes of our volunteers. Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue and other Petite Paws depends on donations to keep the dogs in our program healthy. Many health issues are taken care of before a dog leaves a rescue: spaying, neutering, immunizations, dental care, and in some cases major surgery.
